Compac Homes is a 100% family-owned and operated business based in Ohinewai, North Waikato. Established in 2015, we have been in the business for 10 years and have grown to become not only one of the largest tiny home companies in Aotearoa New Zealand but also the most reliable. As pioneers in cabin manufacturing, the Compac Homes team has led the way in design and innovation, constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in cabin living.
Family and culture are at the core of everything we do. Simon and Deb Fleming, proud owners of Compac Homes, thrive on fostering a work environment that is both accommodating and deeply focused on family and teamwork. This ethos extends to the homes we create, ensuring they are built with care, integrity, and a sense of connection.
At the heart of our mission is a vision: to provide affordable housing that doesn’t compromise on the luxuries and comforts of a traditional home. We believe everyone deserves a space where they can truly thrive—a space that reflects their needs, enhances their lifestyle, and feels like home from the moment they step inside.
That’s why we take pride in delivering exceptional quality and workmanship. Every detail of our builds contributes to creating functional, beautiful, and comfortable living environments for you and your family to enjoy for years to come.
Simon, a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) in Carpentry and Metal Roofing & Wall Cladding, brought his extensive building industry expertise and passion for business management to Compac Homes when he and Deb took ownership in 2020. With a keen understanding of the growing demand for high-quality, versatile accommodation, Simon and Deb have since expanded the company’s offerings to include Compac Rental Retreats, providing affordable and stylish living solutions for the rental market.
Deb, a qualified radiographer with a specialty in CT, applies her management expertise and love for people to the HR and payroll side of the business. She also thrives on connecting with customers, helping them design unique cabin solutions tailored to their needs.
Together, Simon and Deb are committed to delivering exceptional living spaces while fostering a family-oriented approach within their business. When they’re not crafting homes, they enjoy raising their three young daughters, snow skiing, and entertaining family and friends at home. During the summer months, you may even catch them at the lake, skiing and wake surfing.

Nicole joined Compac Homes in March 2021 and quickly became an integral part of the team. Her love for building and design began when she built her own home, igniting a passion for helping others create their perfect spaces. Nic believes that building a cabin should be an exciting and straightforward experience, built on transparency and open communication. Whether it’s a simple tweak to one of our standard plans or bringing a completely new concept to life, Nic is dedicated to guiding you through the building process. Her focus is on ensuring your new home meets all your needs, while making the journey as seamless and enjoyable as possible.
Joanne Nichols, or Jo as we know her, joined Compac Homes in 2021 and quickly became an integral part of the Compac Homes family. As our Inventory and Stock Manager, Jo oversees the purchasing and stock management processes, a critical role that ensures the smooth operation of our builds and keeps everything running like clockwork.
Jo’s attention to detail and dedication make her an invaluable part of the team, ensuring that every project has the resources it needs to succeed.
Outside of work, Jo loves spending time with her family and enjoys unwinding with a single glass of wine—just one, as that’s all she can handle! Her sense of humour and warmth add to the positive energy at Compac Homes, and we’re lucky to have her on board.
